Brakes Fail Sends Brady Family off Bluff into Creek
A 28 year old Brady mother Mrs Pierce and her four children escaped serious harm when brakes failed on their 1950 Pontiac two door as they rolled 75 feet down a grassy bluff toward Brady Creek. Onlookers Amos Lewallen and Alonzo Roberts rushed to aid after seeing the car disappear over the bank. The mother Mrs Pierce and her children David six Paul four and Joseph three crawled free with only scratches and frightened knees. The car narrowly stopped in brush near the creek’s edge and no one was injured beyond shock and minor dents.

Brady voters will elect three aldermen to the City Council next Tuesday. Five men are on the ballot. Incumbents are Aubrey L. Townsend Louis Bierman and R. M. Priesmeyer. Other candidates are E. W. Shuffield and Herbert Harkrider. The top three by vote will be seated at the April 21 council meeting.

The Brady Relays list shows preliminaries at 3 p m with 120 yard high hurdles and finals for several events and semis for the 100 yard dash. Finals run through 4 30 p m with multiple events and trophy presentation at 3 45 p m.
