Former Bowie Resident Missing From Bridgeport Lake Camp
L. L. Bauknight, 52, once a Bowie resident and brother of two Bowie women, vanished from his Lake Bridgeport camp home on Saturday April 23. Foul play feared due to rumors of hidden money. He earlier worked at Miller's Store in Bowie and ran White Rock Camp in Bridgeport. He had planned for a Fish Tournament opening that Sunday and was last seen at five pm. Wise County officers and Texas Rangers pursue leads. Bauknight served in World War I in Company A 345 Machine Gun. he was shell shocked.

An extensive Northwest Texas manhunt seeks Floyd Hamilton brother of the late Raymond Hamilton and Ted Walters who escaped jail Saturday night in Montague after stabbing Kenneth Chandler son of the Sheriff. Mrs. Estelline Brown Williams Rites Held in Truce
Mrs. Estelline Brown Williams, 22, died Monday at her Truce home after months of illness. Funeral services were at Truce Church with Rev. Luther Wilson and Rev. Jack Abshire officiating. Interment followed in Truce Cemetery. She was born in Truce on April 30, 1916, and married Wallace W. Williams on April 1, 1954. Survivors include her husband, two young daughters, parents, four sisters, a brother, and three grandparents. Numerous relatives from Bowie, Newport, Post Oak, and Wichita Falls attended Edwin arranged services and honored memory.

Montague Dairy Products Co moves into a modern one story plant on the site of the Waples Platter Building. The facility features pasteurization and filtration in the operating room, 50 000 pounds of cheese daily, and a large milk receiving and can washing setup serving Montague, Clay and Wise counties. W. Daley manages the plant with Robert Kraft as bookkeeper and Earnest Kirksey as cheese maker.
