More than 12 000 visitors are expected for the third annual Jim Bowie Days parade in Bowie Texas starting at 4 30 p m Local officials highlight a three day celebration with contests square dances rodeos nightly aerial shows and a large parade featuring 73 entries including the only Woman's band in the U S Army. The event aims to draw visitors from California and other areas with a message of welcome from Jim Bowie Committee Chair Charles Coffield.

Band students in grades 6 through 12 meet Mr. Dee Tucker at the High School 2:00 p.m. Sunday to join a two week Summer Music Camp at Midwestern University. Camp runs June 29 to July 12 with July 4 off. Registration is 30 dollars and includes school bus transportation from Bowie.
