Benefit Program to Buy Uniforms For Band
A band uniform fundraiser will be held Friday and Saturday, June 11 and 12, at the City Auditorium with tickets on sale since June 1. Proceeds go to purchase uniforms for Bowie bands. A Band Queen contest open to all unmarried girls will also run, with nominations and a ballot box in the City office and final results announced June 12 from the stage. Frank J. Moss of Austin has been appointed by Judge Karl V. Hall as Montague county auditor. Bowie Schools add Vocational Agri cultural and Industrial Department
The Bowie Board of Trustees voted to add a Vocational Agricultural and Industrial Department to the school to modernize offerings and better prepare students. WPA Canning Plant Opens in Bowie
The Bowie WPA Canning Plant opened Thursday with Mrs. Mattie Fenoglio as local supervisor for bookings. The sewing room closes for canning season and about 25 to 26 workers have been reassigned to wash pick and prepare produce. The project is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce the City of Bowie and donors. Mrs. Ruth Sansom oversees county operations.
