Lone Branch New Jersey September 12 The President’s fever eased overnight with doctors noting no doubt of a metastatic abscess in the lower lobe of the right lung. The danger lies in attack size and virulence possibly requiring an incision. Brandy given periodically. enemata renewed aiding improvement.

The blast burned her arms and neck and set the house alight, leaving her in a critical state as onlookers and a private watchman intervened. The episode ends with a grim warning about the dangers of such a method.
In Rockbridge Alabama Springs Virginia on September 12 an unusual atmospheric event from New England intensified, leaving locals alarmed. The sun appeared dim or moonlike all forenoon, casting coppery air and a solemn, eerie light.
Washbacher, a fruit pedler, fired at a boy who stole pears and hit his daughter aged 8 through the heart after the boy escaped. His partner Frederick Sheberry was mortally wounded in the incident. Washbacher is in custody.

In Bay City Michigan on September 12 a falling tree along the Glencoe and Penconning line struck a passing freight train caboose, tearing off its roof and killing Ernest Voigt William Lynch Reuben Wright and Frank Beverly.
Providence reports 8 year old Helena Frederick Arcus sacrificed her life trying to save a younger child from an ice cart. She reached the other child but was crushed by a wheel, dying from the injury.
The Giant Powder Works two miles from Marquette Michigan were destroyed by a blast today. Ten men and boys are reported dead with several injured as emergency crews investigate the scene and assess the damage.
In Chicago on September 12 the jury in a Methodist Church trial found Rev H W Thomas guilty of heresy with all charges sustained.
