Mrs. Jessie Fox testified that a roll of $55 saved for coal for winter was found among money Bert Roper displayed after the murder. She had not mentioned the amount earlier, and later stated he had not told her he found the money.
Thieves stole more than 15000 dollars in jewelry and heirlooms from Rocky Hill, the Essex summer home of Samuel D. Warren, last Sunday while the family was away. Entry came through a ground floor window and upper rooms showed signs of professional stripping.
She recalled placing fifty five dollars under a newspaper on a closet shelf in the summer of 1915 and said Bert knew the money was there.
The wedding of Miss Helen Clark Kent daughter of ex mayor John S Kent and Mrs Kent of Brockton and William J Brennan a Randolph shoe manufacturer was held at St Patrick's Church at 6 pm.
