Windward Arrives At Brigus For Winter Stay With Peary Party
The Peary Arctic Club steamer Windward reached Brigus after a stormy passage from Cape Parry. It left Sydney July 20 1900 and wintered at Prayer Harbor Grinnell Land with Mrs Peary and Miss Peary. Passengers include Robert Stein and Samuel Wardbath who were taken north by the Diana and landed near Cape Sabine in August 1890. The Windward will stay in Brigus for the winter and sail back in summer to Cape Sabine to bring home Mr Peary from the pole.
