Dewey Sees Filipino War Aims as Mixed Yet Promising

The Evening Post prints an alleged Dewey interview praising his sailors as the best in the world while offering candid views on the Philippines and Aguinaldo. He questions Otis’s breadth of power, doubts self governance for Filipinos now, and predicts eventual acceptance if treated well. He rejects politics, calls himself a sailor, and dodges German chatter.
