West Medford Names Captain Redding Postmaster

Captain Grenville G. Redding, editor of the Financial World, was appointed postmaster at West Medford replacing Mark W. Grimes whose term expired eighteen months ago. A Boston native, Redding has lived in Medford over thirty years and is known statewide. He is Civil War veteran, served as Selectman and auditor, and was nine years a Republican town committee member.

Long Lost Check Found in Wichita Mrs Benhard Sues Over $10,000

Mrs Julia Benhard widowed resident of Wichita discovered a $10,000 deposit certificate in old letters. The funds were placed in the Bank of Trenton Tennessee by her brother W L Richardson on January 23 1863. Although the bank no longer exists she has hired lawyers to sue the stockholders for 10000 plus 6 percent interest for thirty five years totaling about 35000.
