Tim Murnane Day Highlighted by Baseball Faithful
Heralded tribute to Tim Murnane draws magnates to a Sept. 27 event as fans honor the Grand Old Game’s stalwart. The piece mentions Ralph J. Doyle of Malden, student at Holy Cross, and notes Doyle’s four-year exploits as a Malden High third baseman. It also covers Harry Frazee’s travel to New York, Eddie McHugh’s push for intercity series, and several Boston sports figures, including Cooney, Finneran, and Carlisle’s Indian machines, plus upcoming Thanksgiving Day football plans and a harsh critique of championship claims by fight managers.
