In the Ninth District Keliher Conry Monahan tally shows 6866 for Keliher’s bloc and 6386 for Conry with a 1075 margin. In the Tenth District OConnell Linehan lead 8867 to 4282, a 4585 majority. Luce reports 493 delegates to hear from.
Police seize William C. Howard a Fort Rodman private after his alibi questions tie him to the death of his wife Ida Howard. Her body was found in the river near the Pandaram bridge last Sunday, with officials treating the case as murder from the outset.
Howard, arrested after a police story from his wife, confessed to killing Edward Dewhurst at Hazelwood Park three years ago. He cited self defense with Grace Sturtevant of Acushnet as his alibi witness who accompanied him the night of the incident.
National league leaders Chicago Cubs swept a doubleheader over New York while Detroit dropped further in the American league standings. Cleveland reinforced its lead by beating Detroit, and Pittsburgh fell behind after the Cubs’ victories.
Archbishop O Connell presided as Erin's envoys led about 1000 delegates and 100 priests to the opening session at Faneuil Hall. National president Hon. Michael J. Ryan of Philadelphia welcomed guests while flags and framed excerpts from Parnell and Redmond decorated the hall.

Nat C. Goodwin, actor, filed a sealed divorce complaint against his wife Bessie Hall Goodwin known as Maxine Elliott. Details remain sealed until issues are brought in court. attorneys refuse comment and Mrs Goodwin reportedly plans a counter suit alleging faults in his character.
Yesterday's primaries showed Kelcher nearly carrying Ward 6 and O'Connell sweeping the 10th district. Barry defeated Murray for the Governor's council nomination while Fitzgerald forces upset Grady and Santosuosso in Ward 6. Local blocs boosted Kelcher in South End and Charlestown, with Conry carrying Wid 6 by 114 votes.
The Fitzgerald Lomasney ticket suffered a setback when Joseph A. Conry was defeated by Congressman John A. Keliher, who won the nomination by 480 votes, marking a historic fourth renomination for the ninth district. Hobson’s lecture favoring a larger navy did not help Conry, according to his supporters.
