Edward S Hathaway longtime Hyde Park banker dies at 79

Edward S Hathaway of 12 Walter Street Hyde Park died after a five year illness. He was a 20 year paying teller at Eagle National Bank and later cashier at Massachusetts Loan and Trust, with earlier work at National Bank of Redemption. He served on Hyde Park school committee and as town treasurer and helped publish the Hyde Park Times. He was born November 20 1845 in New Bedford and resided in Hyde Park since 1870. He leaves a widow two sons Charles E and Robert T two grandchildren and a brother William H Hathaway. Funeral Wednesday at 2 30 from his residence.

Race With Death Ends for Arlington Woman Mrs Hughes

Mrs. James I. Hughes of Arlington died at 4 30 PM after being rushed from Bridgeport Connecticut to her home to die in her own room. She had Bright’s disease for four months and was cared for at St Vincent Hospital by her brother Dr B F Galbert. Her husband arranged the train stop and ambulance to Arlington Park Terrace where she recognized friends before failing and passing away.
