Art Museum Wing Nears Completion
The Robert Dawson Evans Memorial wing of the Boston Art Museum rises with 22 fluted columns and will be finished by April at a cost of 600000. A grand staircase will feature a donor tablet and the wing will include a vast gallery for tapestries. It will house Boston’s premier Japanese and Chinese collections with a print room study areas and exhibition spaces. Separately Governor Fletcher named George M. Powers chief justice of the Vermont Supreme Court to replace the resigning Judge John W. Rowell.
