During the trial of Stanley Bertka of Wall Street in Superior Criminal Court the 8 year old daughter Stella escaped and climbed into a juror’s lap while her mother testified to desertion. The jury found Bertka guilty within half an hour and Judge Dana sentenced him to six months in the House of Correction.
