Renewal Talks Edge Toward Trainmen Pact on Railroads
Key leaders from two brotherhoods and 12 eastern railroads plan to sign renewal wage and work condition agreements with the New York Central system, likely for one or two years. The accord would shift pay and conditions decisions away from the Labor Board. Further talks with other eastern lines are planned after this settlement.
