Marblehead Sept 14 Eastern Yacht Club fall race featured classes for fifth and sixth size yachts with prizes of 75 and 50 dollars in special and main divisions. Xara won the fifth class after a tight tussle with Bayadere and Vixen. Xara also led the sixth class finishing ahead of Bayadere. Special class saw Saracen and Mignon among top finishers with Saracen clocking fastest, followed by Mignon and Marguerite as overall results wrapped up.
The Beverly Club opens their sweepstakes regatta with Savin Hill and Corinthian Club events. Races off Marblehead feature three classes by sailing length from 16 to 80 feet, with starts at 2 35 p m.

At the American House stables Lowell, Orville W. Peabody was attacked at the back door by a stranger who delivered a decoy letter before striking him with a freight car coupling pin and then being subdued. The assailant, John Kelly of Boston, recently released from prison, admitted the act, claiming drunkenness, with motive believed to be robbery as Peabody carried a large sum. The attacker was taken into custody after a police response and a second decoy letter to Colonel Charles H. Duprez was found.
Charles Bodendieck, a German anarchist, was arrested yesterday in Curcaco for bomb making after police found a quantity of dynamite in his room.
