Rare hothouse grape display tops dahlia show
Fifteen rarities of hothouse grapes from T B W Proctor Topsfield form a standout exhibit at the annual dahlia and fruit display in Horticultural Hall. J K Alexander of East Bridgewater shows 1200 decorative blooms, Mrs B M Gill Medford has seedlings, and B Hammond Tracy Wenham wins the gold medal for a fine gladiolus collection. The hall features prize pears peaches grapes apples plums and melons. The display opens today and tomorrow.

Two youths face life terms in Cambridge assault case
John F. Malvey age 18 and Frank Davis were found guilty of assault with intent to kill for robbing Alec Smith. The pair entered Smith's junk shop on May 16 and attacked him with a hammer before choking him. Smith bit Davis' thumb, aiding arrest. Sentence postponed to next Monday with possible reduction due to Malvey’s youth.
