Interstate Commerce Law Debate in Boston Letter to the Editor
In a Boston letter to the editor dated Sept 10 a correspondent defends the Interstate Commerce Act against charges it favors trusts. He rebuts claims about the Sugar Trust and long and short haul clauses, argues rates inland from Boston match New York, and warns that under the law centralization would arise if fifty carloads receive cheaper rates, pledging the act remains sound though not yet enforced. The writer questions the constituent who criticizes the law and suggests the district elected a representative with opposing views.
