In Belchertown Mrs. N L Osgood barn entered and a valuable horse pair stolen. Daniel Ballou home broken into with safe blown open and about 100 dollars taken. Crop thieves are active in several locations.

Cincinnati observer Benjamin Johnson was hanged for complicity in the murder of Beverly Taylor and her child near Avondale last February. In San Francisco, Frank Hutchings, known as the strangler, was hanged at 12 43 P M today.
In Boonton New Jersey on September 12, 74 year old William M Messer attempted to murder his wife and daughter and then took his own life. The wife is expected to recover though the daughter is believed fatally wounded.
