Lawyer Julius J. Stevens shoots self after contract dispute

Julius J. Stevens a 30 year old Boston lawyer attempted suicide by a left side chest wound. The ball glanced off a rib and failed to reach the heart after a harsh confrontation with a Maine visitor about a contract with his father. Stevens was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital and was reported out of danger. The elder Stevens was expected from Maine as news reached Bowdoin Square.
