Sept 9 war dispatch reports a massacre in Siedice Poland with many dead and dying as a large portion of the town burns. Troops surround the area to seal the town and prevent entry or exit amid fears of wiping out the Hebrew population.
Terrorists killed two soldiers guarding a government alcohol store in Siedlce. A pursuing infantry volley killed two more and wounded two. In retaliation, terrorists began a police and soldier massacre, troops attacked the Jewish quarter, houses and shops were destroyed, and the town burned with many dead and dying.
In Siedlce Russia Poland, troops attacked the city at 8 p.m. Saturday, targeting Jews and civilians alike. Hundreds killed or wounded as three streets were devastated. authorities have surrounded the city and deny access.
A car bound from Sullivan Square to Lowell suffered a controller fire near Broadway and Mt. Pleasant street Somerville. About 50 passengers fled as the car halted after a cannonlike report. Three women Mrs. Beatty Mrs. Atwell and Mrs Beals sustained contusions and other injuries from falls and trampling.
