A young man, William F. Murdock, placed a switchlight before an approaching train after finding a rail laid across the track near a West Lynn foundry. Murder Attempt at Charter and Derby Streets
At noon John Curran attacked his brother in law Joan Watson with a knife at Charter and Derby, severing two throat wounds but not fatal.
