Brockton Knights in Trouble
Massasoit Assembly, K of L in Brockton has been suspended by District 30 for non payment of dues. Organized Aug 19, 1888, it spawned about a dozen new assemblies over the past year. Low interest followed the August 1886 shoe strike mismanagement, leaving the parent body with debts and dwindling attendance. There are over 1700 on the rolls, but only about a dozen show up recently. Resolutions condemning W. L. Douglas for hiring non union rasters drew ten members.
