The funeral of William B Stearns president of the Fitchburg railroad was held from his Marblehead summer residence on Wednesday afternoon with Rev Dr Lambert of Cambridge officiating. The body lay in a plain oak casket adorned with clematis and a broken shaft wreath. Bearers included Robert Cadman Franklin Poor Charles Crocker Rodney Wallace Allen and Wood. Prominent attendees were Fitchburg directors, railroad officials, and several state and regional executives. The interment followed at Harmony Grove cemetery in Salem.
