Gertrude M. Jordan, 106 Boston Avenue Somerville lies in precarious condition at Relief Hospital after three bullet wounds from an afternoon shooting by former fiancé J H Trainor of 9 Harvard Street Charlestown who is under arrest. The incident happened in the basement of Houghton and Dutton Co where she worked as a shipping clerk. They had planned to marry on Thanksgiving Day but the engagement had ended due to a quarrel.
Archie E. Luther and Helen Sisson wed in a traditional Quaker ceremony at Newport Rhode Island's historic meeting house. The couple stood without attendants, exchanged vows in silence, and signed the marriage certificate after a brief prayer.
