The Cunard liner Lusitania completed the Queenstown to New York voyage in four days eleven hours and forty two minutes, beating Mauretania's speed and becoming the first to dock on the fourth day out. She averaged 25.85 knots, with daily legs totaling 2784 nautical miles, and left Daunt's Rock last Sunday at 10 AM.

World bicycle champion McLean dies from crash on track

Mr. McLean, paced by a motor cycle, collided when the front wheel entangled in the motor’s roll. He suffered a compound skull fracture and was found unconscious after a fast ride. The 28 year old was a middle-distance world champion and a prominent six day rider with international wins.

Mrs Jessie Livingstone Forbes of Fairfield Conn and New York is named in a $75,000 alienation of affections suit filed by Mrs Ida Rowley. Rowley claims her husband Ernest, a Forbes chauffeur, was diverted from his wife by Forbes wife and attributes the act to blackmail.
