Court rules kissing soldiers on street not a crime

In West Fifty-fourth Street Police Court Magistrate Pool ruled that kissing and hugging soldiers in uniform after camp does not violate the peace. Nellie Anderson of 213 West Forty-second Street was charged with disorderly conduct after police say she kissed two men at Sixth Avenue and Thirty-first Street early today.

Desperate death at Crawford House leaves clues

A woman about 45 identified as Mrs Bessie Cushing Cambridge Mass died by self strangulation with gas at Crawford House. Her body was found in Room 94 as police and medical examiner investigate the case, noting a life of ease from her fine clothing and jewelry.

Franklin Weld Identified After Loch Lomond Drowning

In Saint John New Brunswick authorities identified a drowned man as Franklin Weld a wealthy railroad and bank official from New York and Falmouth Massachusetts. The body was found near Loch Lomond and recognized by attorney E S Griffing who noted Weld had used the name Frank T Allen to avoid attention during a health tour with his wife.
