Fire guts Stoneham wood working plant. two escape

The wood working plant of George McKeen in Stoneham was gutted by fire yesterday afternoon. Mrs McKeen narrowly escaped death as flames trapped her on the second floor. Firemen rescued her from the veranda as Woburn aid joined Stoneham, with losses estimated over 5000. A nearby four story wooden apartment house was also at risk.

Third attempt to wreck a train in Lynn alarms guards

The third effort in six weeks to damage a Boston and Maine train in Lynn was reported yesterday. Guards along the tracks were alert after officers found brake beam sections in a switch between Fayette and Chatham Streets just before a train's arrival.
