Mayors of Lowell Lawrence Concord and Manchester NH requested parades elsewhere but the requests are denied. Secretary Root confirms the final decision. The Governor met with Adjutant General Dalton and General Carter to discuss the regiment’s reception. Dalton later proposed inviting militia officers and two Governor staff officers to the reception.
