Providence RI October 30 The Boston Symphony Orchestra led by Dr Karl Muck failed to perform The Star Spangled Banner at the first Tuesday concert in Infantry Hall despite requests from Rhode Island prominent women and the Liberty Loan Committee chair. Dr Muck said he knew nothing of the request and had not refused to play.
Cc A Ellis the orchestra manager said when interviewed after the concert that he had received the requests. The remark follows a late program inquiry about composer notes and possible encores.
