Boston University to play Dartmouth and Andover in two games

The Athletic Association voted that BU football may play two games next Saturday against Dartmouth and next Thursday against Andover, with the council to decide outcomes at its Monday meeting. St John Literary Association celebrated its first anniversary at Union Hall with songs and music. A. T. Wi chaired the program with M. P. Davis, A. T. Emery, F. J. Enos, and M. F. The Boston Press Rifle Association event crowned prize winners including R. H. Ward of the Advertiser with the Boston Theatre cup for top individual score in the team match. F. E. Rollins of the Herald took the Morris chair. W. L. Balch of the Herald won field glasses. W. D. Sullivan of the Globe claimed the Traders' Stock Exchange rifle. Burglars Loot Chinatown Store on Harrison Avenue

Thieves broke into the eight store at Harrison Avenue between midnight and 7 AM Tuesday, forcing the safe and taking 3230 in cash and seventeen gold watches. Police have yet to find a clue.

African traveller Cecil J Stuart arrives in Boston

Cecil J Stuart, a 33 year old English born traveler, reached Boston after working his way from New Zealand to the city. He left New Zealand penniless and ran a wager with Charles Trehearn of New Zealand for 600 to 1000 dollars that he could reach Boston in twelve months. Delays due to a broken leg and a hospital stay in New Zealand, plus a stop in San Francisco, pushed him five days past the allotted time. Stuart has written for newspapers to fund travels and once met Lord Randolph Churchill's hunting party in Africa. He also recalls meeting Charles Baxter, a Scotchman and lifelong friend of Robert Louis Stevenson, during the Pacific crossing.

Flynn's Store Damaged by Fire in Cambridgeport

John Flynn's shop at 674 Cambridge street Cambridgeport suffered $500 in damage after a kerosene lamp exploded and started the blaze. The blaze occurred in a large three story wooden building causing near panic among tenement residents.

Identifying Stolen Goods By Local Residents

T Dennie Boardman told police headquarters he identified property valued at 600 dollars stolen from his home last summer. The items were among goods recovered Tuesday at a Gold street residence. A tailor visiting Inspector Lynch identified two coats and a vest made for H. H. Young of 64 Federal Street, stolen after creation.
