In Philadelphia the Holmés trial proceeds with testimony from Sid ney Lt. Samuels and Miss Georgiana Yohe. Samuels linked H M Pratt to Lyman and to a note on a three story building loan. A blaze erupted near B and I streets South Boston at 12 30 AM gutting Commercial Coffees Works and the carriage factory of Robert Hatradh. The one story complex housed Anton Toe Chalk Company and Union Toe Company stocks valued about 2000. Woodbury owned Commercial Coffees stock about 1500. Building fully insured and cause undetermined.

Patrick Mulkern aged 86 of 117 West Ninth street South Boston and James J Sullivan aged 9 of 155 E street clashed at the BH and West Eighth streets corner last night An argument escalated to a fight during which Mulkern allegedly used a pocket knife Sullivan suffered a three inch head wound He was treated by Dr Young at Station 6 Mulkern was locked up
