Smallpox in Chelsea Reaches Fifteenth Case

Chelsea reports one more smallpox case, Mrs. Emma Reed 22 of 165 Spruce Street, bringing total to fifteen. Six patients at the infection hospital are hospitalized and doing as well as can be expected. Free vaccination, directed by Dr. Hall, began at a vacant Washington Avenue Cherry Street store with 77 vaccinated in the morning and about 100 more in the evening, aided by Dr. Frederick A. King. hours are 8 to 10 a.m. and 8 to 9 p.m. daily.

Hurricane Sweeps Santiago De Cuba After Rainstorm

A southeast hurricane hit Santiago de Cuba after five days of rain, destroying twelve houses and damaging many more. The Ward line steamship awaits passage, and the Burnside is cruising offshore while vessels from Haiti and Jamaica fear for their safety ahead of Monday arrivals.

Body Identified as Anna Griffin Found in Charlestown Water

The body recovered Saturday from the water near Tudor's wharf Charlestown is identified as Anna F Griffin of Mattapan missing since Friday morning. Her brother recognized the face at the morgue and a ring marked A F G helped confirm the identification. Authorities say she had been slightly demented and not rested under restraint.

Bridgewater Team Hit by Electric Car. Two Injured

Patriclk Keenan of West Bridgewater was instantly killed and Edward Burke of East Bridgewater badly injured when an electric car struck their team on the track in Bridgewater at an early hour. The team halted on the track. the warning by the motorman was ignored. Keenan died beneath the car’s fender. Burke lay unconscious nearby.

Margaret Murtaugh, 68, of 627 Harrison Avenue, revived by Officer J. J. Crowley of Division 5 after a gas burner was left on and she lay unconscious. A bystander alerted the officer who performed prolonged artificial respiration until doctors arrived.
