The Boston University Law School dean Samuel C Bennett announced annual prize scholarships for the class of 1900. total $1354 spread from $65 to $275. Morris Tarlin of Cambridge won the first non-college prize of $375 for exceptional marks, entering in 1897 and finishing with top ranks without reexamining.

Woman Found Dead From Fall in Back Yard

Mrs Annie Palmer aged T1 years of 11 Florence street was found dead yesterday forenoon in her back yard. Police say she fell down a long stairway starting near the site. Dr Dupee arrived and declared life extinct.

Jones Burial Follows Brookline Suicide

The funeral for W. H E. Jones, who died by his own hand last Wednesday, was held at St Marys Church of the Assumption on Harvard street Brookline. Rev Father Butler conducted the services and the interment followed at Forest Hills.

Fire alarm at Tremont Street restaurant

A fire alarm was sounded by Lieutenant Hall from Box 61 at 4 02 yesterday morning. Fire crews found a brisk blaze on the first floor of a four story brick building at 259 Tremont Street owned by Pierce J Grace and occupied as a restaurant by George F Wood. Damage listed at 100 dollars.

Joseph Wilson aged 33 an engineer aboard the steamer Barrowmore at Grand Junction wharf slipped from a ladder yesterday and fractured his ankle. He was taken to City Hospital for treatment.

Arlington church rebuilt with new doors pews and altar

The southerly corner of the front shows new doors for larger audiences. New pews of quartered oak and a new main altar have been added. The original 1870 building cost about 40 000 dollars, with rebuilding and refurnishing adding another 40 000 dollars. Architects Prescott and Sidebottom of Boston oversaw the work with H B B Prescott supervising. Rev John M Mulcahy has been in charge since 1591 and is attributed with the edifice’s restoration.

Mission at the Cathedral Concludes Women Session

A Catholic mission at the Cathedral in this city closed yesterday afternoon with papal benediction for women after a strong turnout. Father Splinter delivered the sermon and Father McCoy celebrated high mass in the morning. Tonight the men’s mission opens with rosary benediction and a sermon, continuing through the week toward next Sunday’s special services.
