An analysis of New York mayoral politics contrasts Hewitt and George with Roosevelt, noting split support between Tammany Hall and County Democracy, Republican machine tactics, and the foreign vote. It questions whether Hewitt can unite Republicans and moderate Democrats, and highlights the impact of Hewitt's stance on naturalization and his blunt, humorous style on voter perception.
