Dorchester High Drubs Milton High on Dunbar Grounds

Dorchester High School football defeated Milton High 22 to 7 at the Dunbar Avenue grounds. Brett starred with an 80-yard TD run and strong defense. Sullivan added a goal from the line and a field goal. Kaye and Reiser also scored, as Dorchester built a 22 point first half lead. Milton answered in the second half with Reiser and a touchdown by Reiser, while Poole and Sullivan contributed for Dorchester.

Americans Seek One-Week Delay for 1916 Berlin Olympics

James E. Sullivan announces to ask the German Olympic committee to postpone the Berlin 1916 opening by at least a week. The U S team of about 150 athletes would stay near Berlin, with plans to inspect quarters in summer 1914 during the Olympic conference. The Americans will travel on regular ships, not a special steamer.

A small field of women golfers competed at the Country Club Brookline for a handicap medal tourney. Anne Nason led with 95 10 85 gross and net, the only sub 100, in her first open tournament. Osgood 100 even and Porter 1038 followed, Porter net 99 with four handicap. Draws for Country Club championship set first round by Nov 1 with subsequent rounds through Nov 21.
