Auto Crushes Newton Boy Near Pearl Court

Ten year old Harry Woodward, son of Harry D Woodward of 23 Pearl Court Newton, was struck by a touring car as he stepped from between two electric cars in the square. The right front wheel ran over him before the car stopped. he was injured and women nearby cried out. The vehicle was driven by Loren D Towle, a Boston businessman who owns the car.

Gas Endangers Sleeping Tots at Tenement

Police from Station 3 West Jind report a gas leak at 25 Billeries Street where a gas cock was found turned on in the basement. The building housed many children and several were ill. investigators suspect intentional tampering and are pursuing the case.

Balloon Ben Franklin Lands Near Belchertown After Trip

The Ben Franklin balloon with 92 000 cubic feet of gas landed in Belchertown today after a Philadelphia to Belchertown flight. Five Philadelphia occupants included pilot Professor Samuel A King, age 179, a veteran aeronaut. the trip marked his 452nd flight.

Blaze at Everett causes $15000 loss and horse killed

In Everett on October 27 a large fire at the New England Coke & Gas plant caused about $15000 damage. A fire horse was killed and Driver Stickney was dragged from his engine but escaped serious injury. The blaze was among the largest Everette has seen with flames visible for miles.

Fire destroys repair shop and kills horse Old Dick

A wooden repair shop burned severely after a wall collapsed amid a blaze that started after 10:30. Four coke cars and valuable machinery inside were destroyed. A horse named Old Dick was killed when the nigh horse collided with a coke wagon. Firefighters avoided injury. Superintendent McClellen suspects arson.

Daring rescue in Everett driver swerves to save children

Samuel Shore of Providence drove a big touring car with four passengers across Main Street in front of two electric cars. He crashed through a fence and into a house at Main and Carter, reportedly on the wrong side of the street. To avoid children playing in the roadway he crossed in front of outbound and inbound cars.

Mrs. Charlotte P. Wilson of Brooklyn questions a suicide verdict on Dr. Albert Cushman Day after his body with two heart wounds was found in West Roxbury. Slippery rails cause Providence rail accident injuring sixty four

In Providence yesterday forty eight people were badly hurt and eight seriously when a north bound Pawtucket car failed to stop at a switch on North Main street. The collision with a south bound Providence car caused passengers to be hurled from seats and glass injuries. Crews treated casualties at private homes as six doctors and many ambulances attended.

Collision Splits Two Trains Near City Line

A Pawtucket bound car collided with a Providence bound car, hurling into the vestibule and telescoping the younger car. Miraculously neither motorman was hurt though many passengers suffered minor injuries.

Second Smashup on Broadway Hurts Dozens in Providence

Providence Oct 27. The second serious electric car collision in the city occurred today on Broadway hill into Olneyville square. Two people were seriously hurt and 14 others sustained injuries. Conductor T Lyons of the Centredale car saved lives by closing the door and holding it shut as panicked passengers tried to escape.
