At the State Baptist convention in Springfield the anniversary sermon was preached by Rev. Thomas S. Barbour. Reports from the superintendent, treasurer, and executive committee were read and adopted. Dr. George W. Bosworth presented the eighty-eighth annual report noting deaths of two colleagues, investments of 545,000, aid to eleven churches, support for sixty-five pastors, and strong foreign-born outreach. Treasurer W. A. Monroe listed 845,510 in receipts with 58950 to churches and missions. six more churches needed. Dr. Griffin of Philadelphia spoke for the Denominational Publication Society after thirty years.
