Shamrock Almost Ready for Transatlantic Voyage

The Shamrock’s racing mast was moved to the barge Ulster this morning. The Champion derrick attached the jury and jigger masts this afternoon. Sails for the ketch rig destined to cross the Atlantic will be bent tomorrow, with Navigator Hamilton in charge as sailing day approaches Tuesday. Bracing replaced and crew quarters fitted. Sir Thomas Lipton will depart Brin to convoy the Shamrock aboard a White Star liner. Lipton cannot visit Chicago.

Sailors of Columbia Return Home to Deer Isle

Twenty one of the thirty eight Columbia crew members passed through Boston on their way home to Deer Isle Maine after being paid off by Iselin. Each received pay plus a gold bonus and a gold medal pinned to their sweaters by Mrs Iselin. The men, wearing blue Columbia sweaters, planned to sail from Rockland to Deer Isle aboard a schooner if no better transport could be found.

The Royal Canadian Yacht Club in Toronto seeks instructions on what to do with the Canada cup won by the American boat Genesee last August. The cup remains in RCYC possession and may be handed to the Rochester Yacht Club, the Genesee’s home club, for inter club competition.

Moose Shooting Case Recast as Cow Moose Incident

John Brown admitted he shot a cow moose after initially claiming he was freed by the animal. Three other poachers Ladie Matthews Ira C Moody and an unnamed suspect were brought before Justice easlee of Whitefield. The International Metaphysical League wrapped a series on higher thought drawing a large audience in Gilbert Hall. Notables like Rev.
