John Good of Roxbury Dead

Roxbury resident John Good died suddenly at his home 772 Shawmut avenue of heart disease. An Ireland native who arrived at 16, he led 2½ years as Ames tannery superintendent on Ruggles street before moving to wood and coal business on Mall street. A Democrat, he served in the Common Council in 1882, was a life member and president of the Boston Catholic Cemetery Association. He was 68 and survived by his widow and one son with funeral Monday at 9 from St Frances de Sales Church.

Medford Police Chase Slugger Lookalike In South District

Medford police searched the South Medford district for a man described as medium height swarthy and shabbily dressed with a slouch hat who threatened a woman near the brick yards. A group of boys stopped him and beat an innocent Italian before an officer intervened and released the man.
