Greenfield Burglary Fails at Conway Bank Vault Heist
In Greenfield Massachusetts burglars tried to rob the Conway bank vault last night. They pried a window using tools stolen from a blacksmith shop and bored five holes in the vault door, one reaching the steel lining. Only 250 dollars was taken from the cashier’s drawer, while the vault held about 2,000 dollars in cash and securities. A two seated carriage and a horse stolen from Tucker and Cook was found at the Union House. The thieves fled likely on the morning express east or south. the bank lacked a watchman.

The annual report to the secretary of war shows 1882 medical and hospital disbursements of 182 409 dollars with various year end balances. Indictment of Ex-Pacific Bank President Abner Benyon Reported
