General Bartlett declares his continued run as Democratic nominee for governor. He criticizes anti merger rhetoric and condemns Whitney men for alleged democracy surrender to monopoly and for obscene language at a Springfield convention.
General Charles W. Bartlett accuses supporters of railroad monopoly and defends his anti merger stance as he seeks the Democratic nomination for governor. He criticizes the Ballot Law Commission and Whitney backers while claiming a Springfield convention nominated him and exposing alleged fraud in the process.
Democratic candidate Joseph A. Dennison bitterly arraigned Moran accusing him of introducing religious and race issues into the campaign to catch votes of Christians agnostics and atheists alike. Dennison spoke on the stump last night for the final time in this phase of the race.
Mr Dennison repeats charges and outlines positions before about 1600 people across Roxbury Jamaica Plain and Dudley Street venues. He defends his record with the district attorney's office and urges voters to support his candidacy amid strong applause.
Secretary Cortelyou has approved government deposits in New York banks totaling 25 million dollars to be placed in the city’s banks tomorrow after assessing bank conditions.

Mary Troy, 60, friendless and destitute, died yesterday morning at City Hospital from starvation after being removed from a basement room on Oneida Street. Once she lived in luxury, but a reversal of fortune left her without means and she refused to seek aid.
Two balloons in the St Louis race reached the Atlantic coast today in New Jersey. The Pommern German balloon landed at 9 am and L Isle de France French balloon at 1 10 pm. Oscar Ebsluh was pilot for Pommern with Henry H Clayton aiding Blue Hill Observatory. Official ruling awaited on race winner due to narrow distance gap.
The L IsIe de France landed near Hu bertsville south of Asbury Park after a collision free journey. Pilot Alfred Leblanc and Edgar Mix traveled to New York. Mix fell ill but remained aboard. Pommern, piloted by Oscar Ebsloh with Henry Clayton assisting, landed at Bradley Park after 850 miles with minor mishaps. The team blamed contrary winds for not reaching New York.
Mr. Larz Anderson requests correction stating he was not in the wreck that injured Spanish noblemen in Brookline last week. The car belonged to Henry Crowley of Everett. Anderson says neither he nor his vehicle were involved. the crash was caused by a steering failure on a steep hill.
The forecast calls for slightly colder conditions in Boston and vicinity on Thursday and Friday with fair skies. Northwest winds will be brisk in parts of New England and from northwest to north in eastern New York, ending with continued fair weather.
