Tragic Hunting Accident Claims Teen in Leominster

On Rice Hill a 17 year old boy, William McLaughlin, was instantly killed when a gun he was drawing from a wagon discharged. The trigger caught as he handled the weapon, blowing off the back of his head. He was with three companions of his own age at the time.

Charles Dudley Warner Funeral Held in Hartford

The funeral for Charles Dudley Warner was held at Asylum Hill Congregational Church with Rev. Joseph H. Twitchell and Rev. Parker officiating. A large crowd attended, floral tributes included a standard anchor from the Society of Mayflower Descendants. Honorary bearers included Mark Twain’s S. L. Clemens and Yale and Trinity College professors. interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery was private.
