A New York woman, Mrs Stockwell, loses diamonds valued at $50 000 and currency totaling 25 000 in a London Savoy Hotel break in. The room was entered during dinner, the door locked from inside, and the thieves fled in fog with detectives from Bow Street and Scotland Yard investigating.
During elevated railway construction on Washington street south of Dover from Oct. 9 each night, Washington street cars will be diverted between 9 p m and 6 a m to run via Dover street Shawmut avenue and Northampton street pathways.
The Rev. P. M. McCabe, a noted Roman Catholic cleric, died of Brights disease at St. Marys near Waseca. He played a key role in freeing political prisoner John Boyle OReilly by disguising him as they fled Australia in 1869. He later settled in Minnesota about eighteen years ago.
