Roosevelt for Oyster Bay Today

Mercy Hospital Chicago reports Colonel Roosevelt may depart for Oyster Bay tomorrow morning at 8:08 a.m. His condition is described as normal though the wound bled and caused nervous exhaustion. A Colombian diplomat claimant, Luis Molina, was halted while delivering a letter accusing Roosevelt of an atrocious crime in the Panama situation. Molina arrived with two Mexicans, Carello and Morelo.

Molina’s threat to Roosevelt and tainted Panama note

Molina claimed he would travel by train to New York to meet Colonel Roosevelt and displayed a valid ticket and a roll of bills. He sent flowers and a strongly worded postal card and wrote a letter accusing Roosevelt of historic wrongs over Panama while professing sympathy for his recovery. Detectives said Molina was unarmed and he was allowed to depart after questioning.

From the position of the ship all aboard could disembark at any time. The vessel may sail to Philadelphia tomorrow or Tuesday.
