Succeeds Dr Lorimer at Tremont Temple Brooklyn Preacher Myers
The Rev Courtland Myers of Brooklyn is set to succeed Dr Lorimer at Tremont Temple. A modern Baptist leader, he began in Syracuse by rejuvenating a shrinking church with vivid sermons and dramatic reforms. He built a citywide canvass using a church committee to recruit and reform wary parishioners, gaining influential support while provoking some enemies. He later continued his bold approach in Brooklyn, where a brick was hurled through a trolley car window during a confrontation with critics.
