Berlin reports Kaiser Wilhelm orders new imperial crowns for himself and the Empress. His crown will weigh three pounds with a huge sapphire and 109 diamonds, while the Empress’s features about 1500 diamonds and 11 large pearls. Konigsberg hears of the plan and hopes for a coronation there, though details remain tightly guarded.
The Rossney Gas Saving Company guarantees the regulator will show as large a percentage of savings as trial tests indicate within five years. If it fails to meet this or becomes inoperative by sticking up with gas tar, the machine will be removed and the purchase price refunded. In four years on the market no case of sticking up has occurred.

Manchester Oct 20 Mr Balfour Chief Secretary of Ireland in a speech here last night denied Home Rule was the real motive in the recent elections. He said Gladstonian gains came from Socialist agitation and that Irish tenants sought Home Rule to seize others property.

Ottawa October 20 Mr R R Dobell of Quebec arrives to seek government approval for a cable project from Ireland to Canada via Belle Isle Straits. He has formed the Canada Atlantic Telegraph Company with English capitalists. He says the cable will be laid next spring.
Barre Mont October 20 Telegrams from Washington state say the Land Department will issue patents to the Northern Pacific on mineral lands in the Orolino district. The Champion mine valued at $1,000,000 sits on these sections. A department ruling in favor of the Central Pacific could set a precedent. tests have been sent to Secretary Noble by local business and mining groups.
