Several York county towns along the coast felt three distinct shocks tonight in what reports say were earthquakes. Towns including York Wells Kennebunkport and North Berwick reported jarred buildings but no damage. No tremor was observed in Biddeford or Maine's capital.
Reports say part of the Florida Fish and Produce Company fleet was destroyed. Manager Adams dispatched a boat to search for crew and vessels. nets lay scattered along the shore. Coastal towns felt high tides as a hurricane raged offshore near St. Augustine. A Red D liner reported a terrific storm north of St. Augustine. Beatecoo New England schooner Merom wrecked off Portland in rough seas yesterday. crew believed rescued.
Miss Martha Joy a Youth's Companion stenographer was beaten on Rockwell Street near 106 Milton Avenue. A 23 year old assailant in dark clothes and a derby hat fled as residents, doctors, and police searched the area. Police suspect mistaken identity in a series of similar assaults.
James Dodd Milton High School star fullback lay in Metcalf Hospital Winthrop in precarious condition after an injury suffered in yesterday afternoon's game with Winthrop High School. The injury left him temporarily unable to reason.
In the third scrimmage of the first half Dodd was tackled and kicked in the head. He lost his reason at Metcalf Hospital but regained consciousness and was expected to be discharged in a few days. The incident followed a 2 to 0 Winthrop victory.
In Pittsfield on Oct 19 the government conducts its most important wartime balloon test. Major Samuel Reber arrives as observer with Capt. Charles DeForrest Chandler and Capt. Homer W. Hedge, signaling a major aviation examination.
Rumors swirled as officials planned no interference for tomorrow’s balloon race over Hawley trophy routes. L Orient Centaur and Eagle will rise at noon with crossings near Pittsfield Lenox, weather permitting. Centaur aims to win the 100 prize by 1 pm after earth landing.

In a New Bedford speech Mr Moran pledges to end lynching in Massachusetts and asserts he will demonstrate to the nation how to stop lynching if elected governor in 1908. He contrasts his future interests with those of Bryan and Hearst.
District Attorney Moran at City Hall in a 50 minute talk declared opposition to both William Jennings Bryan and William Randolph Hearst. He said his future interests as governor would be antagonistic to either candidate and that he was not tied to them nor affiliated.
Three shocks believed to be earthquakes were felt in York Maine on October 19. The first at 11:00 AM, the second around 8:00 PM, and a third at 7:25 PM shook houses and rattled windows. Initial gunfire from Fort Stark was ruled out as the cause.

Edwin M. Brooks an actor was arraigned in New York court charged with abducting 15 year old Dorothy Rondor of Manchester New Hampshire. He was held in bonds of 1000 and the girl placed in custody of the Children's Society. Rondor and Hazel Hubbard 16 left Manchester to go on the stage and met Brooks in New York where he was playing at a theatre.

A ten day storm across El Salvador floods Masaba valleys destroys cattle and crops. The Izalco warship is lost at Acajutla. Rivers carry drowned bodies and cattle carcasses. Railways telegraphs and commerce are paralyzed though some towns regain traffic. Government orders aid. losses in neighboring Guatemala and Honduras also run into millions.
A tropical hurricane moving from Cuba toward the Bahamas now roars about 200 miles offshore in the Atlantic. No landfall expected tonight with a falling barometer and a 2 mile per hour wind off the South Carolina coast. Coasting craft face hazards along the Middle and South Atlantic coasts as the storm seems to stall its northeastward path.
A cyclone of extraordinary severity struck Havana and Pinar del Rio with heavy rain killing 20 Cubans in Havana and wounding over a dozen. Property losses reach about 2 million dollars as relief efforts begin.
The forecast calls for Saturday clouds with possible morning rain and light variable winds in Boston area. Sunday should be fair. Winds along New England coast brisk southeast and along other coasts vary from northeast to northwest with brisk conditions offshore. Steamers to Europe face fresh east winds and cloudy skies toward the Grand Banks.
The tropical disturbance moving northeastward over the Atlantic appears checked for now as barometers fall along the Carolina coast and winds remain brisk. Coasting craft face hazardous conditions off the Middle and South Atlantic coasts while a second disturbance forms in Colorado.
The Hon Henry Lyndhurst Bruce eldest son of Lord Aberdare and American actress Camille Clifford secretly wed on October 11 by registrar license in London. Clifford continues in The Belle of Mayfair theater while Bruce’s engagement was publicized in July and denied by Lord Aberdare.
