West End resident Joseph Shiner was beaten unconscious by two assailants on Sunbury Street last night. They lured him into a dark corner, assaulted him, and fled before robbing him. He awoke with head injuries and cannot recall the details. police are seeking the suspects whose names they possess.
In Hazleton Pennsylvania on October 16 workers of G. B. Markle & Co. Jeddo fail to resolve differences and plan a major strike. About 2500 to 3000 men and boys will be idle as the company halts all operations tomorrow morning.
Robbers stole $165 and ransacked the apartments of Mr. and Mrs. James Yeamans, elderly blind musicians at 6 Whitney Street Roxbury. The couple, nearly 70, are left destitute and may become State wards without aid.
A disfigured unidentified girl was killed at the Wyoming station of the Boston and Maine railroad just before 10 pm. She stepped onto the tracks as the inward-bound Haverhill express approached and was thrown about 200 feet by the impact, witnessed by several bystanders.
