Dull Shipping Drags Grain Back From London Trade

The port sees grain shippers storing wheat aboard steamers for return to origin as storage space at London warehouses runs tight amid army imports. Columbian and Virginian liners carry thousands of bushels back and forth, while plans to export again from Owport News and London show scarce warehousing and high storage costs. In fishing news, 41 vessels brought over 1,260,000 pounds of fresh fish to the wharf with Lizzie Griffin delivering a trip and rescuing two crew members from a fog-bound vessel. Wind from Cape Bon at 38 mph drives craft to remain in port until conditions improve.
